East Nashville Summer Day Camp

Daily, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, from 06/02/2008 to 06/06/2008

Location: Salvation Army - Magnus-Potter Center, 611 Stockell St Nashville, TN US 37207

Inversion, along with the broader church body at Fellowship, will be hosting two weeks of Summer Day Camp for The Salvation Army in East Nashville. We need lots of volunteers to make this event happen and there are a variety of ways to plug in as well as different times and days to help.

Dates: June 2nd - 6th and June 9th - 13th

Time: 8am - 4pm Daily (there are lots of opportunities to help for just part of a day if you can't attend for a full day.)

Ways to Serve:

  • Arts and Crafts - Need volunteers to develop and teach for one or more days; Need volunteers to assist during Arts and Crafts time for one or more days (Time can include crafts, art workshops or other ideas. Time commitment is from 10:30am - 2:30pm)

  • Music - Need volunteers to develop and teach for one or more days; Need volunteers to assist during Music Time for one or more days (Time can include music workshops or other ideas. Time commitment is from 10:30am - 2:30pm)

  • Computer/Learning Time -Need volunteers to develop and teach for one or more days; Need volunteers to assist during Computer/Learning Time for one or more days (Time can include fun games and other creative ways to teach kids math, reading, spelling, etc., or teaching kids through computer games we have purchased. Time commitment is from 10:30am - 2:30pm)

  • Sports - Need volunteers to develop and teach for one or more days; Need volunteers to assist during Sports Time for one or more days (Time can include sports camps for various sports or other ideas. Time commitment is from 9:00am - 10:30am)

  • Large Group Games/Activities - Need volunteers to develop and teach for one or more days; Need volunteers to assist during large group game time for one or more days (Time can include indoor or outdoor games. Open to creative ideas. Time commitment is from 3:00pm - 4:00pm.)

  • Snack - Need volunteers to prepare snacks for one or more days for 60 kids; Need volunteers to help distribute snacks (Time commitment is from 2:30pm - 3:00pm)

  • Breakfast and Lunch - Need one volunteer per day to help serve breakfast and one volunteer per day to help serve lunch. The Salvation Army has a cook onsite who will be preparing the food (Time commitment is 11:30am - 12:15pm.)
