Slovenia

Slovenia declared independence from Yugoslavia on June 25th, 1991, shortly after the fall of Communism in the area.  Of its 2 million inhabitants, approximately 1000 are evangelical Christians.  Of 192 municipalities, only 25 have an evangelical church, and only five of those churches have functioning teen youth groups.  Since the summer of 2006, Inversion has sent teams to Celje, a city in western Slovenia to host an English/Sports camp.  Our purpose is to show the love of Jesus to high school students,as we come alongside the ministries of Calvary Chapel, Celje www.kalvarija.si and a missions organization named Josiah Venture www.josiahventure.com.  We truly love our brothers and sisters in Celje and look forward to returning.
